Jack Hyde

Jack Hyde is a freelance animator based in Exeter, Devon. In the past two years he has worked for such bands as This Town Needs Guns, The Computers and Secondsmile, creating music videos that combine stop-motion animation and live footage. In 2008 he created a series of short animations for Bella Union Records, advertising such bands as Explosions in the Sky, Fleet Foxes and Stephanie Dosen. He is completely self-taught, having gained an interest in animation while studying European Film and World Cinema at Exeter University. For his final year project he created an animated short film entitled ‘to the moon!’ which gained him a distinction in film-making. His main influences are the short films by Russian animator Ivan Maximov as well as more contemporary artists such as Kristofer Ström and Cat Solen.
