News

June and July 2010

There's not much in production at the moment as I am gearing up for a whole month of summer off during August. I am in the process of editing the video for Malpas, I directed the shoot at the end of June and the video should be finished by the end of July. I have to say it is looking very nice.

We have 2 projects lined up for September but these are under wraps at present, they are both music videos though.

There have been a few success stories as 'Switch' the horror short that I helped Melanie Light produce has been accepted as part of Fright Fest and will have a Leicester Square screen over the August Bank Holiday. Johannes Roberts feature 'F' will also premier at Fright Fest and will then be at a cinema near you so go and have a look if you can.

The video for The Widowmaker has been finished and looks lovely, I have put it below. Congrats to Mel on another nice promo.

The Rolo Tomassi video has had a lot of music channel exposure and is amassing plenty of youtube views. I am obviously really pleased about this and the controversy that the video and song and in fact the band in general seems to bring out in people has been making for some interesting comments.

Things will all kick off again in September so have a check back for an update and have a lovely summer.

May 2010

The video for Rolo Tomassi Party Wounds has been released, we had a front page feature on drowned in sound and it has had over 15,000 youtube views to date. Everyone involved has been really happy with the way the video has been received. The band and label are also very pleased with the way it looks. It has been a great first promo for Melanie Light and should prove to be a fantastic spring board for future work. At the end of May I helped Melanie Light produce a music video for The Widowmaker, this involved a lot of extras dressed as skeletons in the woods at night. The video was themed around the mexican day of the dead and I am excited to see the finished piece. We also have another video for a Holy Roar band coming up, more news next month on that one.

The video Ryan Haysom directed for Run Walk was released shortly after and also got a drowned in sound feature as well as an article on Rock Louder. This has also had a really great response and should help generate publicity for the bands future work. Ryan's video for Shadows Chasing Ghosts was also completed and is posted below. I think it looks fantastic and they have made their own documentary to show all of the crew and band hard at work, I look like a bit of a tool but it is quite funny so have a look. I have another shoot with Ryan Haysom directing coming up in June for Death of Thieves.

The project for the Make a Wish Foundation was finished and screened last week. The charity arranged a red carpet and limo for Luke and he had an amazing time. I managed to get ITN and GMTV involved in recording some news footage to edit into the piece, this was a nice surprise for Luke and his family.

Finally I will be turning to directing again in June to put together a video for Malpas, this will be a low budget piece but should be fun to film.

The videos for Rolo Tomassi, Run,Walk! and Shadows Chasing Ghosts are linked below, and if you want to see the documentary you will have to search for it.

March April 2010

So the video that I was hinting at in February was for Rolo Tomassi and their track Party Wounds and we shot it last weekend. Everyone has an amazing time and I am really excited to see what the finished video will look like. It was a music video debut for director Melanie Light. The make a wish video is shooting this weekend and everyone is super excited about it. I am also producing a short documentary piece about the making of the video and we have a premier planned for both later on in the summer.

There is one more project scheduled for May. It is a music video for Shadows Chasing Ghost with Ryan Haysom directing again. They are signed to Small Town America and we are filming in a derelict warehouse that was recently used as a drugs factory! Should be an interesting shoot.

Next update should include the finished Run, Walk! video and possibly the video for Rolo Tomassi so check back soon.

February 2010

It is great to welcome Director Ryan Haysom on board. We have just collaborated on the video for run, walk! and are planning future projects.

His page will be added to my Directors section in the near future.

The video for run, walk! is now in post production. We have put it in the Capable hands of Steve at Prime Focus who edited the video for This Town Needs Guns - Panda over a year ago now, it is good to be working with him again on a project.

I was approached in February by the Make a Wish Foundation and am now producing a very special project where we will be turning a young boy into a super hero. Everyone involved is really excited and the finished product will be a combination of animation, green screen and cgi.

I have just submitted treatments from several Directors for an awesome bands next video so fingers crossed that will be in production soon. It is a band that I have wanted to work with for a long time so I am hoping that one of the treatments will be accepted.

The video for Maths has been pushed back but is still pencilled to happen in the next month or so.

Melanie Light's short 'Switch' was really well recieved at 'Ghouls on Film' and has since been accepted to several american festivals. There are talks of a feature in the future and the script is underway.

I have posted some pictures from the run, walk! shoot below.

January 2010

Happy New Year.

Below is the finished video for the Run Toto Run track 'Catch my breath'. This is another project Directed by Nick Bentley and it is once again a striking visual idea. So far it has been really well received. Big thanks to everyone who helped make this promo come to life.

This month has been busy so far and there are several project coming up for January/February. I am collaborating with David Allain again on a video for Maths (Holy Roar). I have a video for Winchester band run,WALK! currently in production, this is another on for Holy Roar.

The short film that was shot in december is currently in post and should be finished soon, this is already being submitted for some horror short film festivals.

I am also hoping 2010 will be the year for Ricky Tart's feature to begin production, the script is in the final stages of development at present and it looking good.

2010 will also be the year that Johannes Roberts feature 'F' will be realeased, Jo is a good friend of mine and I am super excited to see what was an amazing script finally on screen.

Autumn and into Winter 2009

I have not updated for a while, things have been busy. The video for Holy State was finished over the summer and was released along side the track, you can watch it here or on Jack Hydes page. Since then Jack has been submitting treatments for several briefs on radar music so hopefully he will get another animation commission soon. In September I produced another of Nick Bentleys projects, for Run Toto Run and their track 'Catch my breath'. The promo is still in post production and the track is currently getting a fair bit of Radio 1 play, hopefully this will relate to lots of interest in the video once it is completed.

Ricky Tart has been away working on a documentary all over europe but is back for more projects in the new year.

I have just produced my first job with Pulse Films and their Director David Allain, he has directed for the ting tings, tinchy strider, lady sovereign and lots more. The shoot was for Kcat and her track 'Boys don't cry' and it went really well. The team on this one were great and everyone really worked hard to pull off some great footage. I have plans to work with David again in January on a video for Maths (Holy Roar).

Finally there is one more shoot before christmas, this one is a short film with a new director and should be interesting, more details to come....

June 2009

The video for Kidnapper Bell - The Great Outdoors is released on June 29th and you can watch it here I will also add it to Ricky Tarts page.

I have a currently in production for Holy Roar, Jack Hyde is animating a video for Holy State. This is due to be finished by the start of August.

The video that I directed for the M83 submissions contest is going to be re-edited for This Town Needs Guns and their track Baboon, this is something that should also be done by August.

I shot some footage of Bombay Bicycle Club playing at Simon's beach hut at Hengisbury head. This was an acoustic gig with about 60 people watching them on the beach, it was an amazing night. I will be putting the footage together into a short video over the next week or so which will go on youtube.

April and May 2009

April was lovely but I am now back working. I have projects coming up with Nick Bentley during May and June. The final edit of Luke Leighfields video for 60,000 miles is nearly finished as Nick fits the edit in around his busy schedule. The final edit for the Kidnapper Bell video is done but won't be released until the summer, at which point I will add it to Ricky's page. There are some pictures from Lukes video shoot below.

February and March 2009

Feb and March involved 2 new videos.

Feb was spent on production for Kidnapper Bell's video 'The Great Outdoors', it is an amazing track. We filmed, with Ricky Tart Directing, on 14th March and it went really well, the video concept is unusual with up to 5 cameras filming at once. The finished product should be ready for the start of April.

In March I was working with Nick Bentley again on production for Luke Leighfield's video for '60,000 Miles'. We filmed on 15th March, so it was a weekend full of filming. The video features a man with a horses head and lots of lovely girls. Nick and Luke shot some of the video out in Spain during touring. I am adding Nick into my Directors section and will post the video once it's finished.

April is my month off but I will be back doing more videos from May.

January 2009

I decided to begin the year with something different and I turned my hand to Directing. Teaming up with Ricky Tart and Ani we made our entry for the M83 'We Own The Sky' video submission contest. We shot and edited the whole thing in under 8 hours and with practically no budget apart from the cost of some tapes and a few balloons. It was really fun.

November 2008

The New site is up and running.

This is intended to showcase the work of all the Directors that I work with in one place. Hopefully this will make it easier for clients.

October 2008

With Ricky Tart directing we covered the awards ceremony for The Academy of Contemporary Music. We worked with Felix Forrester using his new AR rig which blew us all away. Take a look in the links section to see his website. The final video will be up on Ricky's page soon.
